Hello, and welcome to the Village of Lake Linden!
We also want to congratulate you. You have made an excellent decision by choosing to live in our friendly little town. We have created this little list with information on local services and locations to make your move a little easier and the transition to your new home a little less stressful. We also have a Village newsletter sent out quarterly that has a lot of helpful information. Village Services Water billing - The Village bills for municipal water and also for sewage for the Torch Lake Area Sewage Authority. Those bills are bi-monthly (1/1, 3/1, 5/1, 7/1, 9/1, and 11/1) with the rates as follows; Water: $32.00 for the first 4000 gallons or less, $3.50 per addl. 1000 gal. by the Village Sewage: $37.36 for first 4000 gallons or less, $6.34 per addl. 1000 gal. by T.L.A.S.A. Bi-monthly minimum billing: $32 (water) + $37.36 (sewage) = $69.36 for up to 4000gal. Sanitation - There is an annual sanitation fee of $50, billed in April, for each calendar year. Your first fee will be pro-rated for your time at that address. There is also a pay-per-bag system, with bags at .50, .80 or 1.05 per bag. Your first roll of bags is available free at the Village clerk's office in the Village Hall at 401 Calumet Street. Afterward they are available at the Village Hall or at Louie's Super Foods during regular business hours. 2-yard dumpsters can be rented by calling the Village Hall. They are $35 and can be reserved when available. Payment must be received prior to delivery. They are dropped off on Tuesday and picked up the following Tuesday. We also have $5 large-item stickers available at the Village Hall which can be used for chairs, sofas, etc. (Exceptions include tires, batteries, and appliances with freon.) These are picked up with regular service on Tuesdays. Village Park and Campground - Our Village park is open to the public during the summer months. This park includes a campground, swimming beach, tot-lot play area, tennis courts, basketball courts, marina, boat launch and a 2.5 mile nature walking trail around the village sands with covered rest areas along the way. Village Offices - The Village Hall is open from 8am until 4pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Questions about billings or any other questions, comments, or complaints are welcome at any time. If you want to pay a bill on the weekend or after hours there is a drop box at the front door that is checked every work day. The Village Police Dept. has administrative office hours on Mondays from 8am until 4pm. They can be reached at 296-9911. We also encourage calling our anonymous tip line if you witness any acts of vandalism or other problems in the park or anywhere else in the Village. That number is 296-9912. Once again, welcome to our friendly little town! |
